HORSE JUMPER OF LOVE SINGING BY THE SINK
Horse Jumper Of Love release 'Singing By The Sink', a gentle and nostalgic track taken from their upcoming mini-album Heartbreak Rules. Initially known for their lo-fi Duster-ish slowcore, last year's acclaimed The Natural Part saw the band adopt a stripped back, less fuzzy sound. Heartbreak Rules is a further step into that direction, however in embracing simplicity they have lost none of their depth - 'Singing By The Sink' is a folk tinged acoustic track that charts a carousel of scenes seen through a window from a place of nostalgia and comfort. “I was inspired by my grandmother singing old Greek folk songs in her kitchen,” singer Giannopoulos said about the track. “Singing by the sink represents a comfort and simplicity in life to me. It means happiness. The song was meant as an answer to an insatiable pursuit for meaning in the world beyond comfort. The scenes in the song take place outside the kitchen window as she is singing. All separate little worlds going on at the same time.” Check out the video documenting a historical reenactment fair directed by Rhys Scarabosio, the mini-album is set for release on the 19th of May on Run For Cover Records and features some reworked tracks from The Natural Part and a Smashing Pumpkins cover. -Toby Evans-Jesra
